Captain Arvind Sharma's vision turned a stretch of the Cauvery's backwaters into a place where children, parents, weekenders and Olympic-bound athletes could all find the same wind. He believed sailing belonged to everyone — and he spent a lifetime making sure it did.

Every regatta we run, every first-time sailor who clambers off a boat grinning, every horizon we still chase carries his hand on the tiller. The club, the community, and the country owe him a debt that the wind will keep paying for years to come.

Our deepest condolences go out to his family, his friends, and the generations of sailors he taught, mentored, and loved.
